To the Bennett family. Please accept my condolences on the passing of Al. I had the pleasure of playing hockey with Al as a member of the Bolton Oldtimers. He was a good man, a gentleman and both interesting and fun to be around.

Al was one of the last people to see my husband Paul (Dutchie) alive in March. Al and Paul enjoyed a long and special relationship for over 40 years. Paul and I spent great times together with Al and Wendy – scuba diving, painting and generally enjoying each other’s company. It is a tremendous loss – and I know what you’re going through. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. He was a special man – kind hearted, generous and genuine. It was a pleasure to say I (we) were part of his wonderful life. To his wonderful family – sending lots of love and hugs.

Our deepest condolences to family and friends of Al. Al was fixture in our Car Club the Caledon Cruisers, which he was a part of for many decades right to the end. He was always supportive of all we did and stood for and will be sorrily missed by one and all members and friends of the club. Ready with a smile, and always joyful, Al showed his love of life with all he befriended. Thanks Al for all you did to make us successful.

So sorry to hear about Al passing, Greg, Jeff and families. Solace can be found in the fact that Al lived the life he wanted, did and accomplished so much, and he touched so many people along his journey, especially everyone at the hunt camp for 50+ years. We may have lost a legend, and we’ll have one less 40-ouncer in the camp this fall, but the stories and memories will forever live on.

For 30 plus years Al and I played Monday night hockey together in Bolton. I was never the best forward, He was never the best goalie. But we held our own in the dressing room with a beer. Conversations revolved around family, Allan, Wendy and their boys. Me, Sherrin and our 3. Lost touch for a few years after my health would no longer let me continue to play but reconnected when Al joined the Bolton Rotary Club. Condolences on his passing. He was a fine man.

I have memories of this huge car that he found for our mother and when I asked them, why would you find her such a big car and he said with a smile because it’s a tank and she can’t get hurt .He will be surely missed by all that knew him

I had the privilege over the years to be welcomed into the Bennet family at work and in life.

I was a young 17 year old brought into All Lift by my father Dutchie. Al, Wendy and the family always made sure you knew their doors and arms were open. Al would always have time for a deep chat in the shop or across his desk while Wendy would pass me candies with that wonderful smile. He had great advice that I still follow to this day, hearing much of it through my father in his voice. Al was a pillar in our industry to my father and my family throughout the years. They were family to mine and they are sorely missed.

The world and our industry has lost another great one. I know they are sharing a drink while checking in on us, carrying on with their long conversations.

Al will be missed. He was a regular guy. A good guy and easy to get along with. I played a lot of Slo Pitch with him, a little hockey, and did work on your swimming pool and at All Lift. Your dad believed in giving work to league members. Keep it in the family and he had a large extended family.

I’m sorry to hear about Al’ s passing. I played hockey with him for many years with the Bolton Oldtimers and the Caledon Senior Hockey League on Monday nights as well. He came with me and a group of friends to a ski holiday in Austria, and we enjoyed time together many times in the old car hobby. We also did business with All-Lift, and were treated to a satisfactory deal every time. A gentleman for sure. Rest in peace, Al!

Al was our goalie on Wednesday nights for many years. He even collected for the ice many years. I was lucky to have used his florida home once when our children were little. He made it happen for us in the early days.
His love of hockey made him many friends as I see in the posts. We will miss a great friend and family man.

I only knew Al a short time & the fun we had golfing & attending his amazing cottage are memories I will always remember. Al always cared about everyone else & was very generous with everyone.
I’ll miss his stories & great laugh.

We spent countless years together between the pipes—sharing laughs, guarding the nets, and working side by side to keep our pickup hockey games alive and thriving. Off the ice, he was just as memorable. Whether it was in the dressing room or over a post-game coffee, his stories—especially the ones about cars—were legendary. He had a way of bringing people together, whether through hockey, humour, or horsepower.

Such a wonderful man. When the Caledon Womens Hockey League was starting up and we were short on goalies Al stepped up playing in several games. Great memories. R.I.P

Our cottage was also on Gibson Lake and we visited Al for a beer or 2 or 3 !

Our company purchased our one and only forklift from Al and it is still running.

I always enjoyed making a call to All Lift, as I usually could sell a few tires, but more importantly we would discuss old cars, and I could have a first hand view of a Corvette that Al was working on in the far shop. He and Wendy both were good people and great customers, we shared many laughs over the years
