Of Caledon East, peacefuully on February 27, 2012, in his 88th year. Born February 26, 1925 in Dumbarton, Scotland. Beloved husband of Agnes “Nancy” for 63 years. He is survived by his wife Nancy and sons Alex and Ian and father-in-law to Susan and Michele. Loving grandfather to Alexander J., Paul, Stephen, Sarah, James, Stuart, Holly and Malcolm. He is survived by his sister Janet “Jenny” Mitchell of Gartocharn, Scotland and brother David Gunn of Langley, BC and predceased by his brothers Robert, William “Bill”, and Ian of Scotland. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses for over 17 years of care. He lived a full and happy life, immigrating to Canada in 1948 with wife Nancy, originally stelling in Winnipeg and then moving to Toronto where he worked for a number of years with Comstock Construction. He retired at 65 and enjoyed his retirement years at the family property in Caledon East. Cremation has taken place. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life will be held on April 29th, 2012, which would have been Nancy and Alex’s 64th wedding anniversary, at a location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Headwaters Health Care Foundation, Orangeville or the Vera M. Davis Community Care Centre, Bolton.
