No words can express the loss of this great man to my family, myself, his parish, and community. My Grandfather was a witty, intelligent, kind-hearted, pragmatic, and noble man. He really enjoyed conversation, and knew just about everything there was to know. He had a genuine interest in people and the world, and he always knew just what to do! You couldn’t keep up with him.. he was always the fastest in the group and with a wink and a smile he could teach you just about anything. I will miss your stories, our pub nights, and that you taught me how to dance like Ginger Rogers. Our country drives to see friends, and all the chocolate treats! You treated me like a princess and I love you so much. You will live on singing or humming or whistling away in my heart forever <3 Slange Granda

Condolence from Wade on December 2nd, 2020 6:14 pm

Dear Pam, Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Alex was a very kind and friendly person from the day our families met. You both welcomed my family into your house and we had many BBQs. I remember the first time, after about an hour of small talk he asked if I wanted to see his pride and joy in the garage. We went out and there was his antique car. I said “wow”, he said”not that”, then he pointed to his talking sheep sitting in the top corner of his garage………….man I laughed all night! He will be missed.

Condolence from Caroll Carter on December 4th, 2020 11:44 am

I was so sorry to read of Alex’s death in the local newspaper. He and Howard shared a hospital room in 2019. Such a gentleman, and lovely family. I know he and Howard would have enjoyed one another’s company had the circumstances been more favourable. My deepest sympathy to the family. You have lost, but heaven has gained an amazing man. I was happy to read that he was at home, probably not so easy for the family, but great comfort for him. Treasure your memories.
