Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 1st, 2017, at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer. Devoted husband of Giuseppina, dear father to Leo and Daniela, wonderful father-in-law to Tina and Walter, proud grandfather to Jessika, Monika, Erika, and Elizabeth, and loving great-grandfather to Ariana.

Alex was a truly nice guy with an amazing soul and will be deeply missed by all. He found happiness enjoying the simple things in life – spending time with family and friends, religiously watching his favourite Napoli soccer team, playing bocce, and hosting his famous backyard pizza parties blaring his favourite Italian classics.

A sincere thank you to all the care and support received from the health care and palliative support providers, and the loving staff at Bethell Hospice.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Wednesday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 60 Allan Drive, Bolton on Thursday morning, July 6 at 10 o’clock. Entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 7300 Hwy 27, Woodbridge. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Bethell Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 75, Inglewood L7C 3L6. Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

Dearest Zio Alex,
I will never forget how determined you were to find Nick many years ago. You opened up your heart to Nick and I, and I knew then that you had filled a huge piece of Nick’s heart that was missing. You embraced our family and we felt like we had known each other for years. We have such fond memories of the Santoro get togethers, especially Italy last year. And I am so heart broken that you were taken from us too soon. My thoughts and prayers for peace and strength go to your family.
