Dear Edie and family, So sorry for your loss, knowing Albert since the early 1950s I will always cherish his laughter and great sense of humor, he will be missed by all who knew him .Albert will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolence from Lesley (Maze) Commandant & Blaine Commandant on November 23rd, 2016 8:42 pm

Dearest Edie, Peter, Cheryl & Phil and families. Albert was like a second Dad to me and I thought the world of him. He had the best laugh and a sense of humour that could rival anyone’s. He and Edie would make all of us (Cheryl’s friends and I am sure the boys’ as well) welcome anytime and I have such marvelous memories of the fun we had , the music and the singing and the games of spoons and the laughter at the house in Wildfield as well as the cottage on 3 Mile Lake and the countless cups of tea. The Sants’ cottage was almost the only place I was allowed to go as a teenager – my parents must have really trusted Edie & Al! I am pretty sure that Albert taught Chrissi and me how to water-ski and I recall what awe we were in of Albert’s prowess as a barefoot skier, something we would never aspire to! When I got married, my husband was just added to the list of “Albert & Edie” friends and “Cheryl” friends – as though he had been part of the team forever. This was typical of the Sants – everyone was a part of their family. I remember visiting Edie & Al with my husband at their “new” cottage / retirement property beside George and Audrey’s without Cheryl even being there – the true sign of a friendship that had developed over time. I am grateful to have known Albert and to have been included in his life. Albert’s passing will leave a hole in the lives of everyone who knew him, including mine. I wish for all of you , peace and love and wonderful memories of a wonderful man. Lesley & Blaine xo
