I was sorry to hear of Alex’s passing. We worked together in real estate at Family Trust in the late 80’s, early 90’s. I particularly remember a trip we both won to Las Vegas when we shared a room. Alex wouldn’t gamble but he had me play some roulette for him. We won three straight rounds and then he quit and brought home a nice win. May he rest in peace.

Alex was a great friend of our family and especially my Dad, ,Len Bishop. I have great memories of Alex coming to our house on King Road to fix our TV. We had lots of laughs, stories, nonsense and sometimes even our TV got fixed!
Once I remember, after Alex was able to haul himself up from under our TV, while we were all sitting around him just waiting for him to fix it, he showed us the plug. Humbly, yet with the great Cain humour, he suggested that next time we plug it in if we wanted to watch some TV.
Thanks Alex- I will never forget you and over the years whenever we met up, I always appreciated our talks, reminiscing and laughter with great fondness

Alexa, Donna and Andrea,
We are thinking of you all at this very sad time.
We had the joy of sharing a wonderful granddaughter with Alex. Her face always lit up when she spoke of her “Poppy”.
He was a generous man with a warm smile and a ready story.
He will be missed.

Dear Andrea and the Cain Family,
It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Al, father, grandfather and husband to your family. Al was someone who always made me feel welcome and was quick to tell you a story that either made you laugh or shake your head in disbelief.
You may meet thousands of people over your lifetime but you will only meet one Al. I will always remember the time that I knew him.
Please accept my sympathies.
Sincerely,
Darryl

Donna, Andrea, Alexa, Thomas, Ava and my dear son Brendan,
I know how much each of you will miss Alex. I will miss Alex very much too. I know how important he was in your lives. He was a man’s man, but cared very much for his girls: Donna, Andrea, Alexa and Ava. He always did the “blue” jobs for them. Alex was happy to add a couple of guys to the family when Thomas and I came along. And when Brendan was born, I think that enriched his Alex’s life.
Alex was also very important in my life as well. He always treated me with the utmost respect and kindness that extended well beyond my marriage to Andrea. He always treated me like a son and, in many ways, he was a father figure to me after I met Andrea until the day he died. The fact that Alex was around to be a positive role model to Brendan was a huge relief and help to me. Brendan is a lot more confident, self-assured and well-adjusted because of his popi’s influence and guidance.
I hope Brendan remembers his popi all of his life.
Thanks Alex. I will miss you!
Henry

Dear Donna,
Our deepest sympathy to you and your family for the loss of Alex. We have many fond memories of Alex through Masonic Ladies Nights and other Lodge activities. He was always such a happy and caring individual. He was quick with a joke and his ability to put a positive spin on every situation. We would often run into Alex at the Bolton Tim Horton’s where we could always count on him to provide a smile to our day. He will be greatly missed. Michael & Candace Walmsley.
