John Waddy “Jack Shackleton

On Saturday, November 28, 2009, “Jack” John Waddy Shackleton passed quietly away at his residence The Vera Davis Centre, in Bolton, Ontario.   Jack was born in Edmonton, Alberta on July 22, 1922, the son of Thomas Waddy Shackleton of Bradford, Yorkshire England and Alice Rigby. He was the beloved husband of the late Ethel Irene Kelly.   At the passing of his father in 1932, Jack moved to Montreal where he lived with his Aunt Julia (nee Shackleton) Sudgen. Her son Tony who resides in California will miss his friend Jack. Sandra Sudgen who Jack taught to love his music will grieve his passing. Jack worked all of his life for the Simonds Canada Saw Company with the exception of his service in the Army during the Second World War. He will be sadly missed by his step-son John William deGruchy, and wife Christina Jane, his granddaughters, Jennifer Irene Tice, and son-in-law Matthew Tice, Christina Marie Reiser, and son-in-law, John Reiser.   He is survived by his great -grand children, Brendan Matthew Tice, Margaret Cameron Tice, Ann Keara Reiser and Luke John William Reiser. Jack was much loved and brought great Joy and laughter to all who knew him. The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S.
