Kathleen (Kay) Gage (nee Kurtz)

Kay was called home to be with her Lord, in her 77th year, at the Tillsonburg Hospital on Monday, February 23, 2009, after a valiant battle with cancer.   Kay was the beloved wife of Clarence for 58 years.   Loving mother of 6 children, Nancy and Chris Shoemaker, Burlington; Doug and Anne Gage, Orangeville; Barbara and David Carey, Sudbury; Cindy and Curtis Butler, Winnipeg; Stephen and Lisa Gage, Peterborough; Christine and Jeff Johnston, Burlington. Loving grandmother of Stephen, Sandra and Michelle Carey;Jenna, Jamie, Nicole and Matthew Gage;Nathan, Sarah and Aaron Johnston. She will be missed by her 11 brothers and sisters, Doreen and Russ Nixon, Len and Vi Kurtz, Ken and Lil Kurtz, Eleanor and Ian Carmichael, June and Rod McLean, Alan and Milly Kurtz, Bruce and Jean Kurtz, Lorne and Gerry Kurtz, Shirley and Jim Chittenden, Ruth and Bob Gerth, Jim and Pat Kurtz. Sisters-in-law Doreen Gage, Orangeville; Joan Gage, Saskatoon. Predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Reg Gage and Richard Gage. Kay was a longtime devoted member of the Salvation Army in Brampton and for the last five years in Tillsonburg. She also spent a number of years as a volunteer for 100 Huntley Street in Burlington. The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S.
